Independent Pharmacy · Meadowlark, Edmonton · (780) 443-0202
In Alberta, you do not need to see a doctor to get birth control. Our prescribing pharmacist can assess you and provide a prescription for hormonal contraception in a single visit — no referral, no wait, no paperwork to chase.
We can prescribe and dispense combined oral contraceptive pills, progestin-only pills, the patch (Evra), the vaginal ring (NuvaRing), and the injection (Depo-Provera, administered on site).
If you are already on birth control and just need a refill, we can renew your prescription as long as it is appropriate to do so. If you want to switch methods, we can help you choose an option that works for your body and your life.
Walk in or call (780) 443-0202 to schedule a private consultation. The assessment takes 15 to 20 minutes. We ask about your health history, blood pressure, smoking status, and what you have used before. If hormonal contraception is appropriate, we write the prescription, fill it, and send you home the same day.
The pharmacist assessment is covered by Alberta Health Care if you have a valid Alberta Health Number. Most birth control medications are covered by Alberta Blue Cross or your private insurance. We bill your plan directly.
Everything we discuss stays between you and our pharmacist. We have a private consultation room for these conversations.
