In Alberta, you do not need to see a doctor to get birth control. Our prescribing pharmacist can assess you and provide a prescription for hormonal contraception in a single visit. No referral, no wait, no paperwork to chase.
What We Can Prescribe and Dispense
- Combined oral contraceptive pills (estrogen and progestin)
- Progestin-only pills (mini-pill)
- The patch (Evra)
- The vaginal ring (NuvaRing)
- The injection (Depo-Provera) — administered on site
Refills and Switching Methods
If you are already on birth control and just need a refill, we can renew your prescription as long as it is appropriate to do so. If you want to switch methods, we can help you choose what fits your body and your life.
How It Works
Walk in or call (780) 443-0202. We book you in for a private consultation. The assessment takes 15 to 20 minutes. We ask about your health history, blood pressure, smoking status, and what you have used before. If birth control is the right fit, we write the prescription, fill it, and send you home.
Cost
The pharmacist assessment is covered by Alberta Health Care if you have a valid Alberta Health Number. Most birth control medications are covered by Alberta Blue Cross or your private insurance. We bill direct.
Privacy
Everything we discuss stays between you and our pharmacist. We have a private consultation room for these conversations.
Walk in Mon to Fri, 9 to 6. Same-day appointments available. Call (780) 443-0202 to book ahead.
